Rose of Sharon update!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give you a brief update on what's been going on in my life. We had a very sad thing happen to our family. We had to put our beloved dog, Bailey, to sleep. We had to do this because she started getting mean for no reason with growling and nipping and it escalated to the point that she bit my son, Grayson, on the cheek. We talked with our vet about solutions and she said there were no solutions. It was a hard decision, especially on my husband, who loved her so very much. He was there with her at the end and it was very difficult. She was a very fun and loving dog and we will always remember her.
Well, my husband's heart was breaking so much that he went out and bought a new puppy! Meet our newest addition to the family, Blondie! She is a yellow lab and is a wonderful little girl! We have never had a lab before and so far she has been such a great little dog!!! She is not every high strung, don't get me wrong, she is a busy little puppy, but she is also quite mellow and loves to lay down by me and I am enjoying her so much. Needless to say though, our lives will be different for a few months as we take care of this little girl! There are poop and potty messes quite often and she's on a schedule just like a little baby! It's so fun though!

The other new addition to our family is a brand new iMAC computer!!! Our other one was giving us fits with being so slow and constantly getting viruses. My awesome hubby said, "Maybe it's just time to get a new one" and that was that and we bought a new one!!! I've never owned an Apple before and so far it is fabulous! It looks just like the picture above, what you're looking at is the computer, monitor and speakers all in one!!! I love it! We got a cordless keyboard and mouse with it too, so no more messy cords! I still need to learn how to download my pictures and size them, especially for my blog, but I will be learning that soon.

I have been very busy with these new changes in addition to our regular busy life. I am still planning on coming back to blogging, just don't know when. I have a goal, which might be unrealistic, and that is to start a second blog, which really will just be Rose of Sharon Chapter Two and write posts for all of our family events that have happened since October of 2009. We will see if I can do this. Until then....may the Lord richly bless you!

"I will thank You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. I will be filled with joy because of You. I will sing praises to Your name, O Most High!" Psalm 9:1-2

Love, Sharon

Oh my gosh...I've been there before. Watching a dog suffer or even decline and change brings such emotion. Our little Yorkie, Mollie, just turned 7... And, even though I believe she will live long and happy, one never knows the future. We will surely out-live her.

Thinking of you. Love your new little Blondie. Keep her away from the Dagwood's out there or you're bound to face LOTS of trouble!

Love to you~Rebecca

Hi Sharon,
It's so good to hear from you again! You've certainly been missed. I'm so saddened to hear about Bailey, too. I'm sure that must have been hard on the whole family. Blondie is a cutie indeed. I love puppy breath! ♥ Does anyone else? LOL

The new computer is a beauty. I bet you'll have lots of fun w/it. our computer is getting REALLY old & it's super, super slow. (Kinda like me, ha ha.) Good luck & enjoy. Looking foward to you getting back into the swing of things.
Hugs ~~

So sorry to hear about bailey! I am glad that you got a new puppy though. Although the new one will never replace bailey, it will help to fill the hole that she left....

I KNOW the grief putting a beloved pet down can bring. We no longer have our little diva dog...and circumstances prevent us from getting a new dog...for now...it is so very difficult not having a little buddy around throughout my day. So excited for you guys...even with the messes. And WOO HOO for a new MAC....our daughters both have a MAC and keep telling me that is what I should get when it's time for me to get something new.
Miss peeking into your world and reading of your tender heart..but remember BE FREE....there really are very few right and wrongs when it comes to blogging....for me it is a place to track my world....have fun!

Sharon, so nice to see you post a message! I'm so sorry to hear about Baily and my heart goes out to you all! While Baily will always be in your hearts, Blondie will surely soften the pain. She is a cutie! We have a yellow lab and Buffy looked just like Blondie when she was that age. Now she weighs about 85 lbs and is a blast! Enjoy her!

Good to hear from you again Sharon! Sorry to hear about Bailey - pets become a very important part of our family, don't they!? We have had to put down two cats over the last couple years - so hard, so hard! But your new little Blondie looks like a marvelous blessing, how can such a cutie not be?!

And have fun with the new computer!!!

Sharon...I was so happy to see a post from you. Then I got a little sad. So sorry to hear about Bailey. I had a Bassett Hound (suposedly such a laid back breed) have that happen. Quincy was a good boy as a young guy, but something snapped in him and he became a mean, snapping biter, too.

THEN, we got a Lab puppy, Sophie! She will be two in April..a sweetheart except she is a chewer..not my furniture, but I still cannot leave a sock, wet washcloth, stuffed animal or the like anywhere. Hope Blondie isn't related. My advice is to train her to a crate and get her TIRED every day...that will take a lot; they have so much energy - good thing is you have lots of guys to give her a run for the money! She is a little doll, and I hope she brings you all lots of joy!

Miss your blog, so I will be ready when you are to come back!

Sharon-
I'm so sorry to hear about Bailey. My husband had a similar situation with a dog he had as a boy. Blondie is a doll! I know you will all have a lot of fun with her. How exciting about your new computer. Let me know how you like it. My husband bought me an Apple laptop for Christmas! I love it. The only thing is that everyone wants to use my computer since the other ones are so slow! We just might have to get a new family computer as well! Blessings-
Molly

Sharon I am so sorry to hear about having to put down your dog, Baily. I know that is a really tough decision. Your new puppy is adorable. I have wanted a golden lab because I have heard what great dogs they are. The name is dear to my heart. My childhood dog that lived until I was 19 was called Blondie. Take care and I look forward to hearing about all the happenings in your life and family. Hugs, Elena

Hi! We bought the same computer right before hubby left for Afghanistan and although I love it, it does not love my work programs and I haven't been able to work much at all with it! Having an expert come and help me on Monday.

Too bad about your dog, but the new one is adorable! Enjoy your day!

Sharon, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful pet. We lost our "dodger" during the holidays last year. It was so hard, even though our home is full, he was such a lovely creature that God had brought to our lives for 9 years. I hope your new puppy will bring much joy to you all.
God Bless You.

Losing a beloved pet is such a sad experience. I'm so sorry, Sharon. (((hug)))

Your new little ball of love is precious. Blondie will give you years upon years of love! Our Katie-girlie was a yellow labrador who passed on about 10 years ago (my heart still hurts). Such a sweet soul and so faithful and protective of our daughter when she was young.

Give your new little treasure a love for me, okay? :o)

Bless you,

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.
We had a lab once- Dolly- and she was the best dog ever. She was my consatant companion. even though it was the family dog. I would turn around while doing the dishes and almost trip over her since she would lay on the floor and guard me. She would lay her head on my lap or on my shoulder if I were sitting down. The men were very jealous over her devotion to me.
Good Luck with Blonde- she sure is a cutie!

I was just updating my blog since I haven't been on since Thanksgiving - and was happy to stop by and see that you have updated too. So sorry to hear about Bailey, but I think you will just love your lab. We have an office dog that is a lab and she is fabulous. I love your new computer. Aaron is wanting a Macbook and I just found out that they don't get viruses and stuff! I had no idea. I hope you enjoy yours and let us know all about it.
I too, am starting another blog. It will be a joint blog with my sister about our journey with Weight Watchers as we cook our way thru the WW cookbooks. I think it will be fun. Please stop by and see my update too :)

Oh Sharon, what a tragedy to lose a pet that you love, but your child is so much more important, so I would have done the same. Hopefully the poop scooping will be short lived and you will enjoy your new girl much more.
