I'm thinking about going private.....

Can someone tell me how to make my Blog private? I am thinking about doing it but I don't want to lose all of my old posts and I want to keep all of my friends. Any tips???

Thank you!

Sharon

I don't know either! I know I looked into doing the same thing but then gave up on it because I hit a snag somewhere along the way- like I would have to physically invite everyone who I wanted to see my blog and I was afraid I'd miss someone/lose someone I didn't want to lose. Let me know if you figure it out.

Hi Sharon,
If you go private I want to be on that list my week or day isn't the same if I don't know what you've been doing. I just got back from a school camping trip (I am a teacher) 3 hours ago and after hugging my family, feeding them, throwing in a load of washing and clenaing the kitchen I'm checking out your blog. You are a part of my life; a lot of fun and an inspiration.

Love Erica.

Yes under settings you can do it - but Heather is right - you'll have to personally invite (type in their email) your friends so they can view it. You can do a post before you make it private asking everybody interested in reading to email you so you can add them - you just won't get any new readers.

You won't lose your old blogs.

I just made mine private recently. Let me know if you need more help! :) Good luck!

I hope you will include me in your friends if you go private. I enjoy checking in very much even if I don't comment much lately. Love all the red glass items. I would love to find a red glass cake plate. Take care,
Kim

If you go private, can you invite me? I LOVE your blog. I learn a lot from you with your boys. There is a way that only invited people can see it.

Hi Sharon...I've been away for a little while and just caught up on all your doings. I was most impressed with your garden. Is this your project or the hubby's? Your yield of cherries and the cukes was really something. I hope to have a garden next year.

Love,
Amy

P.S. I'm with everyone else..I want to "come along" if you go private :)

Oh, I will so miss your posts. You are the first blog I check every morning. I relate so much to what you write about. I am the same age with 3 sons and you have helped me through many things. I understand, but I feel sad to lose you.

You can go private easily. You just have to put the email addresses of everyone you want to have access to your blog in a spot. they kind of walk you through it. I would love to be on that list.

Hi Sharon, It is so good to be able to visit you again, I so enjoy reading about you and your family, you are such a great example to us fellow bloggers, I know my children have left the nest and have started families of their own, But what an encouragement you have been to me. Family has, is and always will be so very important to me. It has been such a joy and pleasure watching how you and your husband are raising your sons and what examples you are to others, If by chance you do decide to go private I would so much like to be able to be a part of it. God has placed love for Him and your family in your heart and you have such a desire to share it with others.I will be praying that God will show you which direction that he wants you to go.I loved what you said in your previous post, about God teaching you things about contentment, and the feeling of being set free. Awesome!!!
Blessings,
Sue

Hey Sharon!

I would love to be added to the list of those who'd like to keep in touch and be able to read your blog, too. :o) I think that Blogger has a setting for privacy, but I'm not 100% sure where it is. But, I know that you can send out invitations to email addresses to invite people to view it. Hope that helps!

Hope you're doing well - you've always been a huge inspiration to me as a woman, wife and mother, and I'd hate to lose touch!

Hi Sharon! I so much love your blog! If you go private, can I be invited too? You are such a rare person to find! You set such a wonderful christian example in all you do....the special way you take care of and love your family...it really is so sweet and heartwarming. Also, the scripture that you quote helps me so much because many times I find your experiences are similar to things I am going through! You are an inspiration and have encouraged me so, so much. Wishing you a joyful, beautiful weekend with love, Lilly (Lilly0712@aol.com)

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy seeing the goings on of your family. Your blog is encouraging. Whether private or not, keep up all you do. Not only is it encouraging to those of us who don't know you, but the record you have for your family is so great. That is what I love about blogging. I started it for my own family and that is why I keep mine going. Kudos, Sharon. I love your blog.

Hi Sharon!
I am technologically challenged and don't know how to leave a comment, but if you go private I would love to be invited to continue to read your blog. I have an empty nest now but enjoy reading about your family and your thrifting expeditions! I am a Christian too and find your posts to be very uplifting. I really enjoy reading them! I also enjoy your sister's blog! I saw on Kathi's blog that she is working on "The Patriarchs" now. I did this study last year and learned so much from it! My Bible study group is doing Esther and it is awesome! Beth Moore is such a blessing!

I love to go to Goodwill and I am amazed when I see your pictures of the Goodwills in your area. Ours are not that well organized and you really have to dig to find "treasures"! It is so rewarding when you do find one!!

Take care and God bless!!!

Sarah

My name is Jackie and I write to you from Buckinghamshire in the UK. I love to follow your blog and your daily happenings, you have a beautiful family of boys and lovely daughter in law and I love to read about what you are doing and the lovely places you go. Your family bond is truly wonderful, congratulations on bringing up such a strong family unit.

I read today that you are thinking of going private and would love if I could still read about your lovely life and daily happenings and wondered if you do, could you add me to your list of invites?

I have two little girls Becky aged 11 and Abigail aged 5, my total lifes heartbeats, I adore them. We used to life in Canada, we were there with my husbands work, but returned to the UK last year and I miss it terribly. Reading of your outings and trips reminds me of my life there.

Do keep well and take care, hope your eye has fully healed now?

Best regards and warm hugs from across the waters
Jackie
