The silver lining.........

Look at what I found at Goodwill last weekend! I found a complete set of silverware for four! It actually is silver plate, but it is so beautiful! I am just thrilled. What's even more thrilling was the price! They were only .25 cents a piece! Here's proof, you can see the price tags on them! As soon as I got home I washed them gently in hot soapy water. Then I went on the internet! This is made by Prestige, which I later found out is a branch of Oneida and the pattern is called, "Gay Adventure". It obviously is an old pattern, you can guess that from the name! I just love this rose pattern, it is so me!I also found a sugar spoon and two serving spoons. I bought 19 pieces for only $4.75. I found a silverware replacement website and this pattern is selling for about $9.00 a piece! What a blessing! I know it's only a set for four, but sometime when we have an intimate dinner for four it will be perfect! Also, it will be fun to be on the hunt for more pieces!I put the silverware in this little gravy pitcher to take my pictures and I liked the way it looked, so I think I'll keep it out like this! It's funny how that works out sometimes!

May the Lord bless you and keep you on this day and always!

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." Proverbs 25:11

Hugs, Sharon

Hey Sharon
As Gentleman Farmer would say, "Good Find" on the silver ware! The rose pattern IS perfect for you!
Blogger "lost" all my followers yesterday, too! I signed off the internet (I have dial up) and got back on and everything was back to normal. Hope yours is back to normal soon! One hates to lose all our blogging 'friends'!
Blessings!

Hi Sharon! Just read your blog. Beautiful silverware. I may have pieces for you. I have a box of odd patterns and will check it out. I know there are some of the rose pattern. Walt's first wife had some.

When we lived in Arizona (think I told you this before) I found a box of old tarnished silverware. A woman was selling her grandmother's things. I asked how much and she said, "You can have the whole box for a dollar." Snatched it right away! I polished it up and found it was a set for six, Bird of Paradise pattern from 1923. Put that in your computer. There are 12 teaspoons and the rest there are six of. Sad thing is, I can't find it. It has to be in my house somewhere and I am going to search for it today.

Have a great wonderful summer day. I have to rake up apples that are full of worms and mow the lawn. Love, Helen

Oh what beautiful silverware and I say "Silver" literally. We are so used to calling all of our spoons and forks silverware. What a great blessing Sharon.

My up loader isn't working today. Maybe blogger is doing some housekeeping. I hope it works next time I try. Have a wonderful day. Love, Kathi

Love the silverware and I love the way you have it displayed. Very nice. I sometimes lose all my followers as well and then just when I'm really beginning to panic, they pop up again. Strange. Enjoy your day!
