At laaaast............

At last! I finally own a cherry red old fashioned kitchen step stool!!!!
I've been wanting one of these for many years! I don't know why I never just bought one at the store, I guess because I never had an extra $70.00 laying around. Yep, they have them on line and at most stores like Wal-Mart and Target for about $70.00.
I was thrilled to find mine at a yard sale during our town's city-wide garage sale for only $10.00!!!! They had it marked $15.00 and I asked if they would accept $10.00 and they did!
I think the reason why I am so fond of these old fashioned step stools is because my grandmother Margaret had one. I am not sure, but I am thinking that hers was yellow. I know that she had the yellow 50s dining table and matching chairs that are the same type of style, so I could be mixing this up, but I really remember her having a step stool like this.
Isn't she a beauty! And, she's useful too!
I am going to snug her right in this little nook, I think it looks great here and very handy for the next time I need to reach up on that top shelf in my kitchen! I am so thankful for my new cherry red old fashioned kitchen step stool! I'll be sharing some of my other treasures I found at the city-wide garage sale soon.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Hugs, Sharon

P.S. My hubby's spider bite is looking so much better. It is still very painful, but much improved! I am so thankful to the Lord for helping him! Thank you for your prayers!

Wow, this took me back. One of my grandmothers had one of these...and probably the same chairs and tables you are talking about. So cool how God led you to a red one...so perfect for you.

RYC: I hear you... one of the things I'm learning during each pass through a valley...it may not "feel" good, all sorts of things may be "out of sorts" but I also need to look at it as a season of rest. Probably sounds crazy when you're weary....but I'm finding that while I need to keep pursuing Him I also need to pursue fun and joy...learn to go with the flow...choose to look at it as a good thing like you said...even if it doesn't FEEL like it. Just keep setting your gaze on Him Sharon...He is right there with you. Praying you continue to find a deeper intimacy with Him through this season. Aren't we glad He is faithful AND ALWAYS WITH US?!?!

Kind of just gave myself a pep talk as I wrote my thoughts to you. Blessings of all His best!

Hi Sharon!
Wow, what a great deal on your fabulous stool! I love it. It also reminds me of my Grandmother because she had one in her kitchen too. It's great that "old" things are coming back in style. I love anything retro & vintage.

I'm glad your hubby is feeling better. That must have been scary. Yikes.

Cool Sr. prank ~~ they do stuff like that here too! :o) I'm glad it went over well w/the principal! I imagine Rachelle is going to miss Grayson not being in school next year.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Mardell

Love the stool!! It looks so great sitting in your pretty kitchen! Great price as well! My mom had a stool just like this when we were growing up, only it was green. Enjoy your day!

How cute and nostalgic!! I have fond memories of sitting on those stools as a little girl watching my aunts cooking up wonderful things in their cozy kitchens. How exciting to find it at a yard sale and it looks perfect where you have it in your kitchen.

I just read about your husband's spider bite. How scary, but I am glad to hear it is improving.

Hi Sharon!
Wow does that step stool bring back memories. My grandma had a red one just like it. I sat on that stool watching her bake, make lunches, and she even used it as a highchair at the table for me as well. Yours sure looks cute all tucked into the that little nook. Enjoy!

You have been lucky! A practical stool! My mother has a similar one, but much older.......
In Norway we use the same word, but we say stol (with one o). Funny!
We have just one word for both stool and chair.
I hope it will be useful for you.
Happy day (or night)!:-)
It's bedtime here now when I write this.

Mardell,

I like it too that they make reproduction items now so we can re-live some of our past memories! I am so thankful that my hubby's bite is better. It still really, really hurts though!

Have a good evening!

We had one of those growing up. Ours was a different color--my mom would sit on it when she did her ironing--ours was higher than a regular chair.
