My new find..........

I was so excited when I found this neat thing at Goodwill a couple of week's when I was shopping with my sweet daughter-in-love, Brittany.
It's a enamelware wall pocket! I am using it to hold our newspapers! I have never found a good solution for the newspapers and I think I finally did! I think it is so cute!
The only problem is I don't know what this phrase means! Does anybody out there in blogland know what Maison de la Ville means? I'm hoping that it's not negative or bad!
An added bonus is that it was only $3.99!!! Score!
Oh, I am just so excited about my new newspaper rack! What do you think????

"The Lord blesses the abode of the righteous." Proverbs 3:33

Hugs, Sharon

Hi Sharon,

That is a really neat wall bucket.

I visited www.freetranslation.com to see if I could find out what the phrase meant for you.

If you translate the phrase from French (I'm guessing it's French??) to English it translates as "City House"

I'm pretty sure that "de la" is "of the".

"Ville" is probably "city" and "Maison" would mean "house".

"House of the city"

I hope this is correct...if not maybe there's someone out there who is more familiar with French than I am;-)

Have a great day!

Love that wall pocket! Super idea for the newspapers, but I don't know what the phrase means. I think it is french though.

That is so perfect. I checked it out on a translation site..."house of the city"...hmmmm, that's kind of strange. Not sure why they would put that on there.

I am pretty sure that Mary Anne has it right. It is definitely NOT NAUGHTY at least! It's really nice, and it looks perfect in that little nook---just like it was made for it! Great price, too.

I'm of no help whatsoever when it comes to French. English - now that I can handle. Regardless, your new 'newspaper central' is beautiful and in a perfect spot. I must admit though that my eyes zoned in on your beautiful cabinetry first. wow.

Sharon, I saw that at your house and thought it was so cute, but forgot to mention it. I agree with Mary Ann. I think it might mean house in the city. Or the family name may have been Maison?

I'm sick, but getting better. I'll tell you about it in email. Love you bunches. Kathi

How cute!!! I love how you have decided to use this cute find for papers! I have a problem with that on my kitchen counter! The perfect French touch! I forgot to tell you that I love your dress for the Bulldog Pageant! You look beautiful! Also--to follow up on your comments last week--the turtle wandered away--I'm sure he will be back. We have tons of them in the neighborhood-I think they come from the golf course nearby. The largest one I've seen was about 12" long! They snap pretty hard so you have to be careful! Thanks for your suggestions for my bench--I think pillows would be perfect! The flag is from my Dad's memorial-I was able to find enough paperwork to get full military honors. He was 90 years old--he had been a B-17 pilot in WWII. One guy from his crew is still living and we were able to contact him! I'll have to post a story on him--there was actually a monkey that flew on the missions with them in South Africa! This is long-sorry--have a blessed day!
