Breakfast with Kenz, tea with Brit

Hey....who's that handsome guy standing there waiting for me? That's my first born, Mackenzie! We were meeting for a breakfast date!
I have not spent alone time with my son since before he got married, so I asked if he would like to meet me for breakfast so we could catch up. (man...my face looks so puggy in this picture!)
This is just a simple way for us to stay close. We see Mackenzie and Brittany all the time as a couple, but I haven't had a good sit down conversation with my son in quite a while. This was wonderful! It was so neat for me to hear him to say that he loving married life!
A few days later I met Brittany for lunch at a darling tea house/antique store. We also had a very good visit. I love building a mother daughter relationship with her. I am also happy to report that when I asked Brittany, "How's married life?" She responded with the same answer as Mackenzie......."Married life is great!". I am so happy for them. Don't I have a beautiful daughter-in-law?!!! She is just as beautiful on the inside as the outside!

I think it is really important to have close relationships with all my kids and I think by just having a simple little meal with them is a fun easy way to keep in touch.

Hope all of you have a great Thursday!

Love, Sharon

It changes from parenting to relationship and you are making that transition so beautifully! What a great mom you are!

I only have one child...a son, and, like you with yours, we are pretty close. Happily, my daughter in law and I have a wonderful relationship as well. Unfortunately(?) we don't get out much for many one on one 'dates' anymore. Those "pesky" grandkids always want to be with Grammie - (especially if food is involved)...LOL Life is good and gets better all the time.

Have a wonderful day!

What fun sharon! I"m trying to get to know megans fiance Nick, while hes in iraq. I've already started treating him like one of my kids, and i can tell it makes him a little uncomfortable still. I finally told him to get used to it! LOL! I love to spoil my kids and hes practically one already :)

I think it's so wonderful how you have "dates" with your boys. :) I know I enjoy having time with our son alone - and also with just our daughter-in-law. A great way to build lasting and wonderful relationships.
Hugs.

You are such a beautiful person, Sharon and a great mom and mil! Your son and dil are gorgeous, too! May God bless your relationships always.Although I have been blessed in both ways, a great mil and dil, I don't live close enough to either for frequent meal dates. You are truly blessed in that way!

Hi Sharon,
How great that you can have some alone time with both your son and your new daughter. They don't have to say a word their happiness just shines forth on their faces, and yours as well, because if our loved ones are happy , so are we. Have a very blessed week-end.
Blessings,
