I love this guy!!!!

I am so thankful for guys like this! His name is Tim Tebow and he is an awesome football player. He plays for the University of Florida (the Gators). They just won the BSC championship Thursday night. He is the quarterback for the Gators and he did an awesome, awesome job in the game, in fact he got MVP for the championship game. He was the Heisman Trophy winner in 2007 and runner up for 2008.

Do you see the black under his eyes with letters? Do you know that it says? It says John 3:16. I think this is so awesome! What a great role model he is for kids! We were watching the game and my son, Hayden, is the one who noticed it and pointed it out to me. I was so impressed and wanted to learn more about this guy.
Here he is with Philippians 4:13 painted on his face. After they won the championship the reporters all flocked around him and he said, "First of all I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ".
His parents are missionaries and he is not shy at all about sharing his faith in Jesus. I am so impressed with him and so thankful that he is bold in his Christianity and is such a great role model for kids and adults! My boys sure were impressed!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever shall believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

I think that is great too! I have noticed this on many Ohio State players as well. My son is involved in a Christ centered football program and they go around to schools to talk about Jesus and football! God finds all kinds of ways to get His message out. Praise God for faithful servants!

Isn't this wonderful? I follow Ohio State football and noticed that Laurinitis does this with his blackout also. In fact, this young man is quite a vocal ambassador for Christ. I also noticed as the season wore on that the true freshman quarterbak Terrelle Pryor was wearing Bible verses in his blackout also. Great role models.

I also was impressed with Tim's display of John 3:16. I have seen some TV stories about how strong his faith is. He is a wonderful witness & role model!

This is what it means to ..."in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall directs your path"

so glad these players are acknowledging our Lord. Praise God! Great post Sharon !

I admire Tim Tebow as much as the next fellow, but if you're going to do a post on him, make sure you get your football facts correct! (He said, in Christian love.)

Tim plays for the University of Florida (which is in Gainesville, Florida) and is a Gator. If he played for the University of Miami (which is in Miami, Florida) he would be a Hurricane. Miami and Gainesville are about 300 miles apart and are as different as Los Angeles and San Francisco, as New York City and Pittsburgh, as, well, you get the picture.

I'm sure Tim would be honored to know you posted about his Christian testimony and influence. At least you didn't call him a Seminole (Florida State, which is in Tallahassee, and Florida's arch-rival). :)

Hey, RymeswithPlague, even though I have four sons and married to a football fanatic, I am not a sports nut and know nothing about college football! :0) So sorry I mixed up the school he goes to. I tried to do research on him, but couldn't figure it out! I will fix my post. Thank you for pointed that out. It's funny, none of the other bloggers noticed it! Hee hee

Have a nice day!

Hi Sharon. What a witness he is to so many. Thanks for stopping by my blog. You have a lovely family. It is special to see your children making that special relationship with their spouse. 2 of our children had a one year wedding anniversary in 2008 and the other one is engaged. I enjoyed viewing your blog and I'll be back.

Hi, He is a witness to many. Your family is beautiful. 2 of our children each had a 1 year wedding anniversary in 2008 and 1 is engaged. It's precious to see them growing and forming a special relationship with their spouse. I enjoyed visiting your blog. And I will be return. (This may be a repeat of my other comment, I lost my place and don't know if I entered the first one or not, but it's worth repeating) Have a good day!

Mom,

Wow, that's awesome. He's got so much courage and strength (probably from the Lord) to go out there and make a statement for Jesus. What an awesome role model and example he is. Not only for kids but adults too!

Love you!

We love him too--you can find some great stuff on him at youtube--the story of his birth and his parents too. If you have trouble finding it , I have it posted on my devotional blog (not my regular blof) somewhere ;-)

Being an AVID Alabama fan and losing the SEC Championship to Florida was hard. But it is EASY to love Tebow and his witness. I look at his success and I firmly believe that God is prospering him.

This was a cool post Sharon!! A bit different than your usual but really well done!
