Cool Old Jars

I found these cool antique jars at a recycle center. I was so excited when I found them. I gladly paid $5.00 for the set. The lids say "Quality Supreme Vacuumized Coffee".
I love the lines on them. They are filthy and need to be sanitized.
I'll just take the lids off and soak them a bit and then put them in the dishwasher, uh oh, the lid won't come off.
My husband, Eric, had a great idea, put it in very cold water to try and make the glass shrink a little. So I did this very thing.
Okay, lets give it a try.
It worked! Awesome!
Now I can soak them and scrub them.
And then put them in the dishwasher to sanitize them.
Next I filled them up with dried lintels and peas.
They look perfect in my kitchen!

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." II Corinthians 4:7

What a neat trick, I never knew to do that. I'll keep that one tucked away when I can't open an old jar. You always find some neat things. I love your corner. It's decorated so pretty.

Ohhh Sharon... I just LOVE your "new" old jars! The price was such a bargain and they look awesome with the dried peas 'n lentils in them! Don't they look so "at home" on your counter with your other jars 'n treasures?! Your Husband had a great idea for removing those stubborn lids, too... I'll have to remember that. Hope your day is off to a great start... God bless...

I love the old jars. I have some old pepsi bottles and such but I can't put much in them! Happy late Birthday to Hayden. I hope he had a wonderful day. You really blew my mind with that picture of all the boys. I was like- 'wow, they really do all look alike'! Yep- then when I looked closer I realized what it was. Funny!
