First football game of the Season!

Friday night we went to the first high school football game of the season. It was a perfect evening for a football game! Above is a picture of the cheerleaders holding up a giant poster they made for the football team to run through.
There they go! They're all stoked up to play this game!
This was a special night for us as our two younger boys are both playing for the high school. Grayson is a senior and plays varsity and Hayden is a freshman and plays on JV. Because this was the first game they let all the JV team dress down too. This moment might not happen again where both Grayson and Hayden were both dressed down.
Hayden is #99 and is standing there proudly with his team. I was bummed that I didn't get a close up picture of him, but this is a good one where you can see him in his uniform. He didn't get into the game nor did any of the other freshmen, but it was an honor for them to be on the sidelines with the varsity players.
This is the first year that Grayson (#14) got to have his named called as one of the starting players. He has started before, but just on defense and for some reason they don't call out defensive players names. This year he played offensive, defense and on special teams. I know this moment meant a lot to him. Above he is running by and giving "5" to all the other players and I took the picture right when he ran by Hayden!
Grayson is the one standing out front on the very right. It was neat to hear his name being called over the loud speaker.
It was a beautiful night for a ballgame. We love living in this little town, everything is so traditional and so many people come out to support the team whether they have kids here or not. I was trying to soak it all in and really enjoy it as this is Grayson's senior year. One of our friends said it perfectly about our sons being seniors this year, he said, "we're trying to put an anchor on this whole year to slow it down a bit." I liked that.
They won! It was a close game too 16 to 13. They boys were so excited. Grayson played awesome! I was flattered because they all yelled my name to come and take their picture. It kind of became a tradition last year because I always took pictures of them after the games. They all put them on their Myspace pages.
Grayson and his two good buddies and teammates, Garrett and Alex. They were wiped out. All of them played the whole game!
Here's Grayson and Rachelle. Aren't they so cute! They look so all American! Notice the #14 painted on her cheek!
I love this picture. She is wearing his sweatshirt with his #14 on it. He bought her the zebra purse at the fair in the summer. Auh, young love!

Go Dawgs!!!!
