Look what I won!!!!

One day last week when I came home from work look what I found sitting on my front porch! It's a package from Robin at Bittersweet Punkin! She had a give-away a few weeks back and I won!!!
It is so exciting to receive packages in the mail! I opened it up to find a very sweet note from Robin and many fun surprises!
I thought I had won a teacup bird feeder, but I was pleasantly surprised because she gave me even more things! She sent me such fun treasures in the box including a beautiful turquoise candle with dragonflies on it, a package of birdseed, a beautiful sand dollar, Dove dark chocolates and a very cute tag that she made with my initial on it! Wow! Thank you Robin so much!

She made this beautiful bird feeder and it is so cool. The stick is actually a piece of copper. She cut a slightly wider piece of copper and used epoxy glue to adhere it to the bottom of the tea saucer. The long stick of copper fits right into the little piece on the bottom of the saucer. She also glued the cup to the saucer and glued the spoon to it. You are so talented Robin!!! I put it in our front yard on the path to our front door in front of our dining room. Now everyone who comes to call will see my new cute bird feeder!
Thank you again Robin for the lovely gift. You are a very sweet blogger friend! I hope that all of you will pop on over to Bittersweet Punkin and say hello to her!

"Kind words (and deeds) are like honey, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Proverbs 16:24

Thank you again, Robin!

Happy Birthday Cameron!!!!

Happy 22nd birthday Cameron! You are so precious to me! I am soooo thankful the Lord blessed us with you! You light up my life. From the minute you were born, you made such a big impact on the world! You were a big baby at 10 lb 3 oz and you were such a sweet, sweet baby! You were such a lovey and cuddly little guy.
You have made Dad and I so proud in every way! We are so proud of how well you are doing at college and you are soon to graduate! You have always been so smart and you have used your gift of being smart for things that are good. We are so proud beyond words that you want to be a missionary and spread the good news about Jesus to as many people as you can.

You amaze us with your hard work ethic. You have worked your way through college and have done so with such a great attitude. Every job that you have had they have wanted to promote you! That says a lot Cameron! We are so proud of the friends you chose and that have so many friends. You have such a likable personality and you are so funny and fun! We are proud of all the extra curricular projects you have been at the Bible college like being in the plays, in student government and now involved with the evangelistic team that will travel this summer.

We are proud of how you have your own apartment and how you take such good care of your little kitty, Wheeler! We know that someday God will bring you your wife that he has prepared for you and we are proud of how you have patiently been waiting for her!

Thank you Cameron for being such a joy in our lives and for being such a wonderful, special person. I love you dearly, so much so that words cannot express, but I'll try........I love you as many as stars in the sky and pieces of sand on all the beaches in all the world!

Happy birthday sweetie! Please listen to the song I have playing, Find Your Wings, by Mark Harris, I dedicate this song to you honey! I love you!

UPDATE: My Project Playlist music player is not working and it is not playing that song, so the next song I dedicate to you Cam because you are the one who told me that was one of your favorite worship songs - The More I Seek You, by Christ for the Nations. Love you!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!

Today is my Daddy's 79th birthday! He reads my blog just about every day, so Daddy, if you are reading this.......Happy Birthday To You!!! I love you so much!

I have been blessed with such an awesome father. He is an amazing man. He does not have one enemy in the world and never, ever had one. He is the most kind and friendly person you will ever meet. My Daddy is a prayer warrior and a very strong man of God. He raised me to believe upon the Lord and to trust the Lord. My Daddy is a very wise man too. I am so thankful for his prayers every day over all of our family.

In 1986 I gave my Daddy the best birthday present! Eric and I had our second son Cameron on my Dad's 57th birthday! Above is a picture of the birthday boys in 1987, it was Cameron's first birthday! Cameron has always thought that he was special because he was born on Grandpa's birthday!
Here is a picture of them together last December at Cameron's school play. Cameron is now bigger than his grandpa, but he remembers the days when he was a tiny boy and how much he loved his grandpa. My Daddy has the best garage and shop where he has so many cool things that all of his grandchildren love to look at and play with. My Dad has always been such a great grandfather to all my kids and has shown them so many neat things. The best thing he has taught them though is by his example of how to be such a Godly man.

Happy 79th birthday Daddy! I love you!!!

More cabin pictures

On the second day that we were at the cabin (Saturday), Eric's sister, Stacey and her husband, Jim arrived. They brought Stacey's son, Preston and Preston's friend Zack. Here is a picture of Eric getting ready to BBQ standing there with Jim and our dog, Bailey. It showered off and on, but mostly it was just a drizzle and it didn't bother us too much.
Dinner time! Yummmmmm!!!!
Brittany keeping warm by the fire. They are all listening intently to someone talking, but I forgot who! It must have been pretty interesting!
Grayson and Zack taking the paddle boat out.
Now it's Hayden and Preston's turn.
The kids also got out the canoe. This creek is so awesome because it is perfect to play in and boat in, but it is only about 2 feet deep!
Right before I took this picture I heard the guys all yelling "polar bear swim" and I raced to the edge of the deck to see them all standing in the freezing water!
Then they all quickly jumped back into the hot tub!

Eric's parents, Jim and Alice, came up on Sunday evening. Here is Jim visiting with Brittany. Brittany and I sitting in the sun.
Stacey and Eric sitting and visiting with their mother Alice.
Cameron and Alice are on dish duty tonight!!
What I love about trips like this is everyone just does what they feel like. Here is a picture of Cameron and Hayden playing a game on Cameron's lap top. They were laughing so much. I love it when the brothers bond!
Now here is Eric and Jim chill'n out and watching TV.
Stacey and Brittany playing a game of cards. It was not all good. We had two accidents happen. Hayden scrapped his knee very, very bad when he was trying to retrieve a toy from the tin roof. He climbed up there and scrapped it so terribly. We thought he needed stitches at first, but then we thought he would be okay without them. He is healing up nicely now.
After that incident, the boys were all shooting BB guns and Grayson was accidentally shot in the shin. You can see the bump there where the BB is. We got it out and it is healing up nicely, but we were upset with this incident. All of the kids have taken hunter safety and an accident like this should NEVER happen. Even if it is "just a BB gun", it is still very serious! Eric and I were not happy! The boys all got a serious talk about the foolishness of such an accident and we were all very lucky it wasn't more serious. Grayson said it didn't hurt and was more excited about having a cool wound and wanted me to take a picture of it. I am really, really thankful that both boys are fine and we did not have more serious accidents. I am so thankful for the great family weekend we had, it was just wonderful. All good things have to come to an end and our time at the Cabin by the Creek is over. Thank you for sharing our little time there with us!!!

Weekend at the Cabin!

Real quickly, I would like to thank all of you who left such sweet comments yesterday about empty nest. Your comments were such an encouragement to me. Sometimes it is just nice to know you are not alone when you are going through something. I feel so much better today, I think it has passed for now! Thank you for your prayers and sweet words of concern. You all mean so much to me and I will be getting back to you later today.

We pulled into the cabin's driveway at about 8:00 Friday night. This is what it looked like. Can you imagine our excitement as we drove up to this cozy place?
I just thought I would share a few pictures of the inside of the cabin before we get it too messy. This is the dining area.
Above is the living room area. Here is one of the bedrooms. Don't they have it decorated cute?
Above is the master bedroom with a king bed. This room did not have any heat though! The first night I was a little cold, but the second night I found a bunch of extra blankets and we slept great!

What is camping (cabining :0) without a bunch of junk food?
Mackenzie and Brittany ready to start the weekend.
Here are the boys and Brittany in the hot tub on the first night. Cameron wasn't there yet, he came up on Saturday afternoon.
Hayden relaxing on Saturday morning.
Kenzie and Brittany doing dishes. He looks happy doesn't he!!!
Eric enjoying the good life......a lazy boy, a TV, a remote and on vacation with his family.
Hayden shooting his sling shot.
This is the thing I love to do. Have my daily devotions with a cup of coffee looking out at the beautiful view.
I love to read God's word all the time, but especially when I am surrounded by all the beautiful nature.
Brittany and me. Isn't she a beautiful girl!! She is beautiful inside and out, everything Mackenzie has been praying for, everything I have been praying for! No fair, I'm not wearing make-up! I didn't wear make-up all weekend!
Eric being silly and posing for a picture as he prepares the BBQ for dinner.
Kenzie and Brittany visiting with Eric while he's cooking. Mackenzie made the fire. He kept that fire going all weekend. That is such a cool portable fire pit, it's on wheels! I think we will be looking at those for Eric for Father's Day!
Yea! Cameron's here! I am so thankful that God protected him as he drove up alone on Saturday. It warms my heart so much to have all my kids with me!
And here's Bailey. She was having a blast. She got so dirty. She is learning how to play in water and retrieve sticks we throw in the water.

We all had such a great time. I took way too many pictures, so I will share more tomorrow.
