Show and Tell - Our new master bedroom!

Today is Show and Tell Friday at Kelli's House , just click on her name and it will take you to her blog to see all the fun!

Today I would like to show you our new master bedroom furniture! First I will show you the before picture:

This room looked okay, but everything was mismatched and old. The chest of drawers in the back corner was Eric's as a little boy. I found the bed frame at a thrift store and painted it to look shabby chic, we purchased the mattress brand new, but it was not comfortable. Eric made the chest at the foot of the bed and I found the big wardrobe at St. Vincent De Paul's. After 25 years of marriage, we decided to buy a new bedroom set, and here it is..............

We love it! We got a king size bed and boy is it nice to have more room! Both of us have been sleeping much, much better!

We found it at Ashley's Furniture.
We found the bedding at Macy's.

It was hard to find bedding that coordinated with the wallpaper and also enhanced the furniture, rather than take away from it, and I think it works perfectly. I love the rich colors and fabric.
Above is my dresser. I love the carved wood and I love how much it holds! Isn't it amazing how are new lamps coordinate so well with this lamp!
Above is the headboard. I love the carved wood. It is so pretty. I think it coordinates well with the yard of roses picture.
Here's the one of the new lamps! I love them!
They are made of carved wood with a painted glass shade with hanging crystals....perfect!
A close up of our many pillows. All of them came with the bedding set except the two round "pill box" style pillows, which I found at Ross for $6.00 each and the neck roll, which I found at Wal-Mart for about $16.00.
Above is a picture of my bedside table. I have a picture of our boys when they were little, Mackenzie was about 10, Cameron, 8, Grayson, 4 and Hayden 1. Also, a picture of Eric on our 16th wedding anniversary and our 20th class reunion.
Above is Eric's dresser top. It has our mini wedding album and a photo of us from about 8 years ago.
I found the lamp above at Goodwill for $8.00!
Here is a close up of the curtain rode that Eric hung for me. The drapes are Bordeaux velvet from Wal-Mart (gotta love Wally World!) and we hung a lacy panel on the inside.
Eric hung these neat brass tie backs, also purchased at Wal-Mart. These are the pictures on Eric's side of the bed. That is us on our 20th anniversary and another picture of the boys.
Above is a picture of our powder room. I like the saying in the framed picture, it says, "Each day is God's gift to you, make it blossom into a thing of beauty".

Well, that's it! That's our new bedroom! I hope you enjoyed the little tour! Next on the list to show you is what I did with our old furniture; we took it all upstairs to make a new guest room and it is coming together pretty nicely! But, that is another day!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

"The sleep of the laborer is sweet." Ecclesiastes 5:12

Hugs to all of you!!!! Sharon

I love your new bedroom set - especially the carved headboard. The bedding is beautiful too.

I also loved the old bedroom. Your bedding kind of looks like ours.

You really know how to decorate. I also loved what you did with the broken lampshade on the other post. That is really pretty.

That is a stunning makeover! I love the opulence of the new bedding - it goes so well with the lovely wallpaper and the richness of the wood. Such pretty lamps too. We've just bought ourselves a new kingsize bed after 20 years of marriage. It is mahogany with a really tall Gothic headboard, and SUCH a comfortable mattress . . .

Love your blog - we have a lot in common as I "do" junk as well!!!

It IS beautiful. All the details are so elegant. But I have a question. I'm very attracted to the high "wardrobe?" that appears to the far right in the 'before' picture - what I can see of it. The one from SVDP? It looks very interesting.

Oh totally worth the wait! I was at the store the other day and saw some pillows and thought oh Sharon would LOVE these and they actually looked like some of the decorative ones on your bed, isn't that funny, as if you just lived a couple blocks away and I could drop them off! Just shows you how often you can think of blogging friends and actually feel like they are such a big part of your life! Have a great weekend ....and sleep tight! the king size bed is probably wonderful with all that extra space!
Love
