We're getting a new bedroom set!

Eric and I just got back from the furniture store where we ordered a new bedroom set! We have been married for 25 years and have never purchased a new bedroom set. What really pushed us to do this is our desire for a king size bed and a new comfortable mattress. We had purchased a new queen mattress about 5 years ago, but it has never felt quite right and both of us wake up with aches and pains, so we decided to get a new king size bed and a new bedroom set. And no, Grayson does not get the old mattress! LOL!!!
We decided that we would not exchange Christmas gifts this year and that we would instead get a new bedroom set in January. After looking for a long time in the showroom, we finally decided on this set. It is called Hill Star. We like it because it looks like antique furniture and it goes with the rest of our home.

I really like the vintage look of it. I am so excited! We both are excited! It will be delivered at the end of the month. Now I need to get busy cleaning everything and moving our current bedroom set up to our guest room. We still need to pick out new bedding and lamps, which will be fun. I will show pictures when it is delivered!

It's BEAUTIFUL! I am so excited for you, you would think it was me getting it the way my face lit up as soon as I logged onto your blog, haha!
I bet it goes wonderful with the rest of your house. Make sure you post pics when it is all delivered and put together and the new bedding is on etc.
That will be something to look forward to ...my husband and I do not have a set we picked out together, mine was bought for me by my late Nana, I cherish it ..but it is getting very worn and old, and not in an antique sort of way you know....some furniture lines just do not age well! Enjoy the rest of your weekend

well, ya gotta show your old set...because I can't rem. what it looked like! I have a temperpedic (sp?) bed---because it was so expensive it is just on a frame--we put a bookcase behind it (which needs some fixing)--but I love the mattress and sleep so well and am spoiled by it. However, it is a warm mattress!

Scrolling through your blog to know you better, I discovered a picture of your actual bedroom. Then indeed it would be a big change ! Looks very pretty. We don't have a bedroom anymore we have our own rooms instead. Mr. Gattino snores so loud and he sleeps like a windmill, so that it is impossible to sleep well together. So 5 years ago we decided to have one room each and that's very nice. We are also married 38 years, this year 39 !
I am very happy with my room and feel so good in it. There are certainly pictures of it in my cat blog, because the cats sleep always on my bed,lol !

How pretty the set is that you picked out. We have a king size mattress and I love it! It is just on a frame now. My room is always the last thought. Maybe one day I will get a nice set too. I know you will love it. Can't wait to see it all set up in your room. I know you are excited too.

Aw, Sharon I do know exactly how you are feeling. See, I have been a mom since I was 16 and being a mom has been my sole purpose in life. Although Billy was a surprise at such a young age, I chose to marry and have more kids. When I graduated high school I was 8 months pregnant with Wes. I was a honor student but felt that God's purpose in my life was to have a large family and be a wonderful mother. Over the years I have went back to school and piddled with many different jobs. Now I am beginning to feel like- 'what do I want to be when I grow up?' I feel like my children do not need me as much anymore. Now what do I do with myself? Yep-I'd like to be a doctor! LOL! High aspirations-huh! Yes, we do need to blog about this more and look for support in each other and from those who have already gone thru it.
