Show and Tell - Sock Monkey

Today is Show and Tell day! Kelli at There's No Place Like Home has Show and Tell every Friday and here is mine for today!

It's an antique sock monkey! I can't explain it, but I saw him last week at a thrift store and before I knew it, I had purchased him and he was mine! I don't know why I am drawn to him, but I am. I like his cute little face and I love his little overalls! I imagine that some adorable little grandma lovingly made this monkey for her sweet little grandson, and she made sure every little detail was just so. Look at the cute pocket on the back of his overalls, there is even a cute little hanky stuffed in there, and the hanky even has stitching on it! Unbelievable. The buttons on the front of the overalls are so cute with detail too and she added a hook and eye beneath the buttons. I don't have a permanent home for him yet, but for now he will just sit in the dining room and watch over us as we eat!

Have a great weekend!
~Sharon

That is the cutest Sock monkey I have ever seen. My brother and I had one growing up, but not like that--I see why you grapped him up. The one I used to have , they still sell in a Vermont Store catologue. ;-)
