Show and Tell - Love Letters

Kelli at There's No Place Like Home has show and tell every Friday and this is what I am sharing today.

These are old love letters my husband, Eric, wrote to me when we were dating back in high school! They are so cute. I keep them bundled together with a pink velvet ribbon and display them on the shelf above our bed. They are not your typical love letters that sound as if they were written by Shakespeare, they are just very sweet from the heart poems like Roses are red, violets are blue. I wrote him just as many and we both saved them all these years. Once in awhile we pull them out to read and we have read them to the boys. Back then I could only dream that I would marry Eric, but here we are thirty years later and we just had our 25th anniversary!

How special! It is wonderful to have the letters from so long ago - but even more beautiful to see that your love is still alive and growing. A valued gift in this day and age. Not too long ago - my husband and I went through some of our old love letters - such wonderful - funny memories we have.

Thanks for sharing,
~Jane

Such precious memories these letters hold and I love the fact that you both kept them! My mom has a box filled with love letters from my dad from when they were dating...all of them date back to the late 1940's:-) xo

How special! It is wonderful that you kept them. SO many times we see things as unimportant or get rid of them in the process of de-cluttering or something! Congrats on so many wonderful years together!

Your letters are such a beautiful loving thing to treasure. It's wonderful that you still have the letters and best of all that you have love, only I know that your love has grown even more. I love the pretty ribbon around them. I still have some of mine, and I would like to display them like you have. You have so many wonderful ideas.

A treasure! And that both of you treasure your being together is even more beautiful.
Does the ribbon have a special story?

How sweet and thoughtful that you display your love letters... I keep mine in my "Treasure chest" and last week I was in the chest for something else and I happened to see the letters.. so I read them again... such memories they bring back...
I think it's great that you keep those memories right in front of yourselves all the time...
Happy anniversary!!!

Hi!
I just found your blog and really like it.
You have a real flair, have you ever considered starting a small, online store?
